Former Hearts of Oak striker, Reuben Senyo has blamed the current board members for the club’s poor performance in recent times.
The 2000 and 2004 CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup winner has struggled to win a major silverware since 2009 after the floatation shares.
The former Black Meteors forward in a closed up interview with Sly Wobete Koke of Bryt FM in Koforidua averred that the board of the club do not have a good relationship with the players and for that matter, they do not show desire whenever they are playing for the club.
“I think Hearts of Oak has a managerial problem. During our time, management had a good relationship with us and this helped the team a lot. Prior to games, you will see Tommy Okine coming so down to talk to us. In fact, they really had a great influence on us” he said.
“The club was owing me but I didn’t have that in mind because they were talking to me day in day out and so I decided to play my heart out for them but the current board player relations is poor”
“The board thinks about themselves rather than the players. So the players too don’t give their all in matches” he concluded.
He has therefore encouraged the board to make player welfare keen if they are to get back to glory days.
