The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign commenced at the weekend with both Hearts of Oak and Kotoko failing to pick up the three maximum points on opening day.
The Phobians kick started the season with a defeat against Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium last Friday.
Martin Koopman’s outfit seems to have secured a point at away but a late strike from Owusu Afriyie ensured the Pride of the North maintain their unbeaten run against Hearts of Oak since their return to the top-flight.
RTU have now recorded four wins against the Phobians in their recent meetings.
Asante Kotoko on the other hand, had to settle for a draw against returnees Heart of Lions, who puts up an impressive show at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Despite creating scoring opportunities, both teams were unable to find the back of the net as the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw.
Meanwhile, the most-talked about incident in the clash was Heart of Lions disallowed goal which has generated a heated argument in the country.
Africa campaigners, Medeama and Dreams FC will honour their opening games in the league on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
The Ghana FA postponed their games to enable them prepare for the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup games respectively.
Dreams FC recorded a 2-1 win against Kallon FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday. Medeama on the other side inflicted a 3-1 win over Guinean giants, Horoya AC.
