Alhaji Akanbi, a member of the Board of Directors of Hearts of Oak has descended heavily on the supporters of the club following their protest against the board and management of the club over what they described as mismanagement.
The Phobians are not in normal times following the resignation of three of their technical team members.
Coach Kosta Papic resigned from his post as head coach of Hearts of Oak on Monday sighting some irregularities impeding his performance at the club. Papic’s departure preceded another resignation from the goalkeeper’s trainer, Ben Owu, as well as Team Manager, Saban Quaye, who was asked by management to leave the club.
In the wake of the club’s woes, supporters have fingered Alhaji Akambi as the man behind the club’s recent struggles.
But at a press conference in response to an earlier conference organized by the National Chapter’s Committee (NCC) Alhaji Akambi has questioned the supporters if they are sensible than the majority shareholder of the club.
“I’m not even concentrating on what they are saying, my most important issue is to face whatever is ahead of me to do it but not even a single person has come out to point out what I have done wrong until now, for so many years nobody is able to come to say this is what I have done”
“The fans keep mentioning my name but if I were to be on Facebook or Youtube by now I would have to earn bigger money because I have been trending. They are just pointing fingers at me”
“The supporters have tagged me as a whistleblower. They think I have been lying to Togbe but excused me to say, are they more sensible than Togbe Afede, none of them is sensible than hi, he knows better than them” he said.
