Security Consultant, Robert Mettle-Nunoo, has called on the government to conduct proper investigations with evidence-based conclusions, which took place in August in Adansi Akrufuom in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the black box from the military must provide vital information to help authorities understand what went wrong.
Dr. Nunoo explained that several factors can lead to tragic incidents such as military clashes due to weather conditions, mechanical failures, and many other factors. He stressed the need for proper orientation and training for the military and other security agencies to prevent such tragedies.
In an interview with Nana Yaw Obeng on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show, Dr. Nunoo debunked the circulating rumors by so-called prophets, stating that they distract from the real issues.
Touching on the importance of adequate funding to the security agencies, Dr. Nunoo articulated that the government needs to support national security and champion personnel, physical, and psychological growth.
He mentioned an instrument monitoring system known as “eyelit,” which helps guard and track critical systems—a technology he believes should be prioritized to avoid further incidents.
Dr. Nunoo also suggested that collaboration with international forces could be key in improving safety protocols and response mechanisms.
Dr. Nunoo advocated for the creation of a trained volunteer disaster response force nationwide to gather real-time information and respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies.
He emphasized the urgent need for an early warning system. Dr. Nunoo urged the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to be better equipped and more proactive in its operations. He believes that with the right systems in place, Ghana will be a prosperous nation.
