Some pharmacies in Koforidua have recorded high patronage in regards to hand sanitizers as fear has engulfed the people in the Eastern Capital.
In an interview with mybrytfmonline.com some of the pharmacists in the municipality, they disclosed that the patronage of hand sanitizers has increased tremendously after Ghana recorded its first two cases in Accra.
According to them, the prices of these hand sanitizers are still the same and haven’t added a dime to the cost of the product.
“Though people are always rushing to our shop to buy a hand sanitizers as a protective measure to resist the virus, we don’t see that as an avenue to make a huge profit. We believe that if a lot of people come to us to buy our profit on the product will virtually increase and that will make us gain a lot of customers but increasing the product will make them ( customers) stop coming to us”. A pharmacist stated.
“We need to be loyal to our customers and they are priority, deceiving them will only bring us down as a company. This is because if a customer buys a hand sanitizer for GHc 50 at our shop and gets the same product for GH 3, I don’t think that same person will ever step a foot in our shop again. Making a huge profit now and putting your company in disrepute is shameful and we don’t encourage that”. Another pharmacist stated.
People in the Eastern Region are therefore, pleading with the government to enforce the laws that will stop the deadly virus from spreading and also to take drastic measures to keep the ordinary Ghanaian safe.
Ghana has recorded six coronavirus cases in the past few weeks.
