Highway robbers have gunned down a motor rider in Akaatiso road in Bia West District of Western North Region.
The incident occurred around 2:00am.
The highway robbers struck few minutes after two armed police officers had escorted passengers onboard two GPRTU Sprinter bus to a point they believe was out of the danger zone.
While the robbery was happening, a motorbike rider bumps into the incident but failed to stop when ordered by the armed robbers forcing them to open fire on him leading to his death.
“One shot dead in another Robbery attacks at Akaatiso road in the Bia West District. Two GPRTU loaded car has been robbed after two police officers escort the car to a nearby Town called Jato around 2:00pm. Right after the police escort, the armed robbers stopped this sprinter’s car in between Jato and Bonsu Nkwanta and took all belonging of the Passengers who were traveling to Kumasi. During the act, a motor Rider fall into it and decided not to stop but unfortunately for him, the robbers shot him Dead” a witness said.
