A 25-year-old nurse Erica Adufa has been shot dead by Highway robbers on Subinso to Nchiraa road in Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region
Three other passengers sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to Wenchi Methodist Hospital.
The victims were on board a taxi Opel Astra with registration GE 4850-X which was en route to Nchiraa from Subinso II but on reaching a section of the road the Highway robbers attacked the taxi cab and its occupants.
One of the victims, Ofosu Nuamah, a 50-year-old Maison said, the incident occurred on Saturday evening between 7 and 8 pm.
According to him the robbers rushed to the middle of the road and start firing gunshots at them.
The Medical Director at Wenchi Methodist Hospital, Dr. Oman Abraham confirmed that that the victims were brought to the facility at about 8 pm on Saturday.
“They were four, one was in a critical condition one dead on arrival at the hospital while two people also sustained injuries”.
He further explained that the one who was in critical condition was immediately referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
No arrests have been made so far.
