Hon. William Amankrah, a former NPP New Juabeng North Constituency Chairman Candidate has cut sod for work to begin on the re-development of the Asokore, Suhyen market and Jumapo bridge in the Eastern Region.
Hon. William Amankrah was convinced women would be the greatest beneficiaries of the project and her office would do anything possible to ensure that such projects are done to support women and children.
“I know that women are doing very good works in our homes and communities to support our husbands. And that’s why they need a push to enable them to play their role,” he said.
He said the market would help boost economic growth in the area and also improve the living conditions of the people.
According to Hon. William Amankrah, the popular demands for the construction of a modern market befitting the status of the municipality and the timely response by him clearly showed that the latter was responsive to the needs of the people.
He said the new facility would replace the dilapidated markets structure that had existed in the area over the years.
He added that his intention is to use the new market to create jobs by attracting more people to the area to engage in trading activities.
The Jumapo bridge will also connect several communities within the area.
Hon. Amankrah has already commissioned a Mechanized Borehole at Asekesu No.1 health centre. The project was fully funded by him in fulfilment of the promise he made during the NPP Constituency election. The total cost of the project was GH 15,000.00.
Again, he commissioned a bridge for the people of Oyoko Asuogya a suburb of Koforidua. The bridge was fully funded by Hon. Amankrah and it cost him GH 40,000.00.
