The Ghana Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce has donated food items to the frontline medical staff of the Lekma Hospital.
The event was a charitable act facilitated by the chambers members’ to donate to the hospital in the midst of the global pandemic.
The goal of it was to send essential consumables to the frontline medical staff, and let every medical staff feel the sincere support from the Chinese friends in this difficult time.
The Chamber Chairman Jacky Chen led this charitable occasion at the forefront of the hospital, accompanied by Deputy Chairman Rainbow Lin, Director Jewel Chen.
Other representatives present were China Medical team, Secretary-General Stephen Shum of the Association of Ghana Chinese Societies as well as Dr Benjamin Anyagre of Ghana China Friendship Association.
With their support collaboration, the association donated 400 units of essential consumable including rice, sunflower oil and milk to the hospital.
This is aimed at keeping the morale high for frontline medical staff, a statement issued by the team stated adding, they [frontline medical staff] are key to the wellbeing of us all, now it’s the time for us to rise up to the challenge and act with swiftness”.
The team urged Ghanaians to stand strong and adhere to the safety measures in place citing a Chinese proverb that says, “Two mountains are connected as we share the same sky, firm as the two mountains stand they depend on each other, the two mountains describe the bond between Ghana and China, and together we will weather the storm ahead”.
