The first of the series of investor forums earmarked by Ghana as part of the broader plan to court investors to Ghana has been held in Doha, Qatar.
The event, which was organized at the Congress Centre on the Expo park, saw the participation of Ambassadors, business persons, corporate bodies, andother relevant institutions.
The event’s theme “Agribusiness investment opportunities in Ghana within the context of Agritec” looked at the many opportunities in the agribusiness space and the institutions of state and the private sector powering agribusiness growth and evolution.
In her opening remarks, the Commissioner General for the Ghana Section, Osafohene Dr. Afua Asabea Asare I, whose speech was read on her behalf by the DCEO in charge of Operations and Finance for the Ghana Export Promotion Authority Mr. Samuel Dentu outlined the numerous plans and interventions by the government to make the sector globally competitive.
The speech also touched on the objectives underlying the nation’s participation in the Expo and the collateral benefits it will bring to the citizens of Ghana.
She thanked all the ambassadors and the business publics who made it to the forum and assured them of government’s support and commitment to protect their investments in Ghana.
Other notable presentations and discussions looked at export oriented horticultural investments opportunities in Ghana, Modern Agriculture in the context of Tech and Innovation, Upscaling Innovations in Agribusiness for Rapid Economic Development; The role of Research and Development.
GEPA, KNUST, UDS, and NEIP were some of the institutions that gave presentations on the subject matter.
