In a significant gesture of medical collaboration, the Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Tamás Fehér, has donated a state-of-the-art phototherapy machine to the Service to enhance neonatal jaundice treatment in the country. The donation took place at a brief ceremony at the Service’s Head Office in Accra.
Presenting the equipment, Ambassador Fehér emphasized the machine’s potential to significantly reduce treatment time and improve survival outcomes for newborns with jaundice.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Service, the Ag. Director-General, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, expressed his profound gratitude for the timely support. He assured that the machine, designated for the Upper East Region, would be utilized effectively and maintained regularly to meet the health needs of newborns in the area.
Prof. Akoriyea further highlighted the importance of such partnerships in strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system and expressed optimism for continued collaboration between Ghana and Hungary.
