President Muhammadu Buhari says he is aware of Nigeria’s cash crunch.
People are frantically trying to get their hands on new naira banknotes because the old ones won’t be legal tender in just a few days from now.
The central bank will take in the old notes for seven days after the official February 10 expiry date.
“Nigeria’s should expect significant improvements between now and the February 10 deadline,” Buhari tweeted. Nigeria’s presidential election is set for February 25.
