Kwabena Ohemeng Tinyase, the former Member of Parliament (MP) who represented the Kade Constituency in the Eastern Region,
has denied speculation that he will contest the 2024 parliamentary election as independent candidate.
Known for his tenure with the New Patriot Party (NPP) during the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, earlier reports by some local media outlets in the area said,the former MP’s decision to go independent marks a significant shift in his political career.
In a purporter official declaration,Kwabena Ohemeng Tinyase allegedly emphasized the importance of grassroots support and consultation with various stakeholders in making this decision.
He is alleged to have urged his supporters to remain resolute and committed to supporting his candidacy, highlighting the need for determination and hard work to achieve their shared goals.
The former lawmaker is a chartered accountant and former country consultant with the World Bank Rural and Private Sector Development Project in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
He listed his achievements during his tenure as the MP for Kade.
These achievements span various sectors, including water and sanitation, education infrastructure, health infrastructure, road infrastructure, housing infrastructure, and employment.
Some notable achievements include the construction of water closet facilities, boreholes, school dormitories, classroom blocks, and CHPS compounds, as well as road rehabilitation projects and housing developments.
Kwabena Ohemang Tinyase also facilitated employment opportunities for numerous youth through various government agencies and initiatives.
In addition to his accomplishments, he highlighted his commitment to community welfare, including sponsoring annual Islamic pilgrimages to Mecca for five Muslims from the Kade Constituency.
The former MP would have contested the current Member of Parliament Alex Agyare who defeated him in 2016 parliamentary primary and now seeking third term in office as lawmaker.
But speaking to Brytfmonline.com, he denied making declaration to contest as Independent candidate.
