Reports from local media indicate that Gifty Klenam, a former Member of Parliament for the Lower West Akim constituency, has defected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Recent photos circulating on social media show Klenam adorned in NDC paraphernalia, signaling her allegiance to the ruling party.
Klenam first entered Parliament in 2009 after winning the 2008 elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She secured re-election in 2012 but lost her party’s primary in 2015.

Speaking to the press on her defection, she stated that she aligns with the vision of the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC and believes joining them is the best decision for her political future.
