Former President John Dramani Mahama has said his administration did not ignore the Eastern region from 2012 to 2016 from benefiting from the national cake but did what they can in the area of road construction and infrastructure in the various sectors.
According to him, New Public University was built in Somanya as well as Community Day Senior High Schools, water projects, and road construction for the people in Eastern Region.
Speaking on Koforidua-based Sunrise FM during his thank-you tour of the Eastern Region, the former president said new Community Day SHS projects he constructed include Nyanoa-Kwaobaa in the Upper West Akim District, Kwahu Fodoa in the Kwahu West Municipality, Maame Krobo in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District, Akyem Takorasi in the Denkyembour District, Anum Apapam in the Ayensuano District and Mem-Chemfre in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District Community Day Senior High Schools were fully completed.
He said Apesua, Sekesua, Obopah, Osenase, Banka, and other areas also benefited from the Community Day SHS projects and most were almost completed before he left office but Nana Akufo-Addo administration has abandoned all the projects.
The former president said Kwahu East District Hospital located at Abetifi was over 60% complete, Obome ICT center was commissioned and Nkawkaw to Atibie road was asphalted before 2016.
He added that his administration also invested in water projects in Kpong, Kwahu, Kyebi, Suhum, Osenase, Oda, and others.
