Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations who oversees the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), has stated that he is not paid as a minister of state.
He claims that when the president named him as a minister, he chose to accept the salary of an Member of Parliament (MP) based on his belief.
He explained that as an MP, he is entitled to all rights and he was at ease with the MP’s remuneration.
Mr. Baffour Awuah continued by saying that he made the decision to avoid getting caught in a double-pay web.
The minister cum lawmaker disclosed this to the media.
