President John Dramani Mahama has publicly commended and provided support for the ‘BuzstopBoys’ for their exceptional dedication to environmental cleanliness, calling them exemplary citizens whose efforts merit national recognition.
Speaking during the official relaunch of the National Sanitation Day on Saturday, President Mahama presented the group with a generous donation of 200 wheelbarrows, 300 shovels, 300 brooms, 300 pairs of hand gloves, and standing brushes.
The support is aimed at bolstering their impactful sanitation efforts across the country, particularly in Accra.
“I encountered them last year because I saw them on social media, and they call themselves the bus stop boys. I want to commend them,” he stated.
This recognition comes as Ghana renews its commitment to environmental sanitation through the reintroduction of the National Sanitation Day.
The day will be observed on the first Saturday of every month across all 16 regions and 261 metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies.
