South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos has said he thought about his outfit defeat to Ghana after just 15 minutes into the much-anticipated game last Sunday.
The Black Stars inflicted a 1-0 win over the Bafana Bafana at the Cape Coast stadium to secure a playoff spot over the South African’s.
Andre Ayew’s strike from the spot was enough for the West African powerhouse to book qualification to the final World Cup playoffs.
Bafana Bafana needed a draw to reach the third and final round of African qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, but Ghana won with a controversial penalty.
In a press conference held by the South Africa Football Association [SAFA] to provide updates on the FIFA petition, Hugo Broos indicated he knew Ghana was going to win the game considering the performance of the Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguette after just 15 minutes.
“And then the game started and after 15 minutes, I went to my bench and said to my two assistants ‘forget it, forget it, Ghana will win this game,” he said in a SAFA Press conference
“And in my career, there are those games that you think that the referee is against you,” he added.
