The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged religious organizations to offer prayers in support of his candidacy for the 2024 election.
As part of his statewide campaign, Dr. Bawumia spoke at Techiman in the Bono Region and attended separate meetings with a range of groups, including religious organizations, the Muslim community, traditional leaders in Bono East, the NPP youth wing, vendors at Techiman market, and craftsmen at Magazine.
He asked religious leaders, Muslim leaders, and traditional authorities to pray more fervently for him to win the presidency and for free and fair elections.
Dr. Bawumia praised the nation’s well-regarded record of religious tolerance and underscored that the NPP would collaborate with all relevant parties to ensure peace both before and after the elections.
Dr. Bawumia outlined the policies and accomplishments of the NPP and promised to build on past successes by reorganizing the import duty system, promoting a digitalized economy, and enacting a flat tax system.
The National Campaign Chairman for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, Mr. Dan Kweku Botwe, stated that the party’s cooperation with religious organizations was not only political but also aimed at leveraging their significant influence in fostering harmony and peace within the community.
