Former Ghana captain Andre Ayew has disclosed he never considered retirement after securing a move to Dutch outfit NAC Breda.
Ayew, who guided Ghana U20 to World Cup triumph in 2009 recently secured a move to NAC Breda as a free agent, marking his return to competitive football after several months out.
Speaking to ESPN, Andre Ayew, the most-capped player for the Black Stars, said he feels good in his body and that now is not the moment to call time on his career.
“I never thought about it (retirement) because my body is good, I feel good. I live my life day to day, so I prepare myself every time to have a better tomorrow on the field and off the field,” he said.
Ayew has been out of the Black Stars since 2023, with his last outing coming at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Despite securing a new club and playing actively, it is unknown whether the experienced forward could make the Black Stars squad for the impending World Cup to be co-hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
