President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said it vehemently that, the only direction he wants Ghana football to go is that, Black Stars should end the country’s long wait for an African Cup of Nations title.
“I want Black Stars to win the African Cup of Nations, that my direction for Ghana football”
“I am determined to provide all the support government can give to the new GFA to sustain them, and give Black Stars the best opportunity to bring the cup home,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo, therefore, assured the senior national football team, the Black Stars, of the unflinching support of government and the people of Ghana, to win AFCON trophy in the coming years.
This came to light when a colleague journalist asked him, the direction he want Ghana Football to go, he responds by saying, “I want Black Stars to win AFCON”
The four-time African champions will have the chance to win the title 2021 when the team joins the rest of Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon in June.
Having won the last trophy in Libya in 1982, Ghanaians will be hoping Kwesi Appiah and his technical team break the jinx in the coming years.
