Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, has pleaded with Ghanaians to join him in the fight against lawlessness in the nation’s capital, Accra.
In an effort to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa, Mr. Quartey is urging churches, civil society organizations, the media, and commercial drivers to join his campaign.
According to him, combating indiscipline in the capital city requires teamwork rather than the activity of a single person.
“I want to see a system working than a Henry Quartey doing everything, and I have laid the foundations so today let me make this passionate call again to the good people of this region, I cannot do it alone, but I need everybody on board,” the Regional Minister said on the Point of View on Wednesday, February 15.
Also promising to take down all illegal billboards in the city was Mr. Quartey.
He said that all unlawfully placed billboards would be demolished because of the indiscipline involved in the careless placement of billboards throughout the city.
“We are going to start with billboards. We commissioned Mr Dadzie of AAG to do some extensive work over the last 15 months and I will engage them in the next two months. We will send signals around, and we will remove every unauthorised billboard.
“Nobody should come to me and say he is a party person because I won’t even listen,” the Regional Minister said.
