National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed that he wanted the incumbent Member of Parliament of New Juaben South, Hon Mark Assibey Yeboah to be voted as constituency’s NPP parliamentary candidate.
After debunking allegations leveled against the party, the party supported the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Michael Okyere Baafi to win over Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah.
Mr. Blay made this assertion during an interview with an Accra based radio station.
“Of course, I’m speaking with facts. I will have preferred Assibey-Yeboah to have retained the seat considering the very vital role he has been playing as Chairman of the Finance Committee in Parliament.”
“But as I said is democracy and if it’s a contest, he was confident and I believe somehow very confident he will return to Parliament.” he said.
Mark Assibey Yeboah has served as a Member of Parliament for people of New Juaben South for 8 years but unfortunately lost his parliamentary candidature to Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi at the just ended NPP parliamentary elections.
