Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, a presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, has voiced unhappiness about not being given a job in Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration.
He said that the Akufo-Addo administration ignored him when it came to an appointment despite all the contributions he made to assist the party win the election.
Dr. Apraku stated that he was ready and eager to accept a post that fit his background but no offer was offered. He made this statement during a JoyNews interview on July 11, 2023.
“I was the campaign for Akufo-Addo in 2008, in 2012 I was in charge of security and the last one that I did not have any position I worked very hard, I went everywhere that I could. But I was not offered a position.
“I would have accepted a position if I was offered one, with my background in economist, finance… I would have minded at all being offered the position of finance minister…I was ignored and so I had to find a job,” he said.
He denied the claim that by choosing not to serve in his administration, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was deceived.
“It is not a betrayal if anything at all, it should be the reverse… they did not find a use for me, a use for me that was appropriately packaged,” he said.
