Founder and Leader of Liberal Party of Ghana Percival Kofi Akpaloo has indicated his government will invest $1bn in Ghana’s football when elected into office.
In a Facebook post, the politician said such initiative will help Ghana to develop talents who can represent the Black Stars to win the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The comments by Mr. Akpaloo comes at the back of poor performance by the Ghana National team at the Qatar 2022 World cup currently ongoing, leading to the team’s early exit at the group stages.
Many Ghanaians and football pundits have expressed mixed reactions at the Black Stars performance and inability to win trophy for Ghana over the past years.
Meanwhile, the post by Mr. Akpaloo has been received by many on social media as a mere political talk and that must not be taken seriously.
