Majority leader in Parliament and the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, Hon Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has revealed he is poised to providing more infrastructure to the Winneba Vocational Training Institute(NVTI) to meet the demands of the School.
According to him, with the introduction of the Free Technical Education, many institutions have been populated by many youth who are yearning to learn a skill for their future.
This, the Effutu lawmaker has announced his commitment to making sure he provides more infrastructure to accommodate students who come to learn at the Winneba center.
Speaking to Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, the Majority leader revealed he is determined to making the Winneba Vocational Training Institute “A Center of Choice” in the country where it will be a number one choice for prospected students.
He said this when he donated 400 mono desks to students of the school.
The lawmaker emphasized the introduction of the free Technical education by President Akufo-Addo has eased the many challenges parents and guardians have to go through in the past and pledged his continious support to the quality of education in the Effutu municipality.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin indicated the school currently now has a total enrollment of 1,840 students as against 350 prior to the introduction of the free technical education and therefore called on all stakeholders to support government in such a good cause.
Meanwhile, Principal of the Winneba Vocational Training Institute, Martin Ekow Young who received the mono desks commended the MP for the initiative since it will go a long way to help the facility in its educational agenda.
He has, however, used the medium to elaborate numerous support Hon Alexander Kwamina Afenyo Markin has provided for the facility since assuming office as MP as part of the ‘Effutu Dream’ Project.
He mentioned presentation of laptops to teachers, construction of fashion department, provision of summer huts and others as some of the interventions the lawmaker had earlier provided for the school.
