The sudden demise of the former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John left most people in shock.
Sir John who passed on, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, was known for his hilarious jabs against the party’s opponent anytime a question is being thrown at him.
According to reports, Sir John lost his sister and went to perform the one-week rites at his hometown, Wonoo in the Ashanti Region.
When he returned to Accra, he fell ill and was admitted to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he died.
Reacting to the death of Sir John, the Vice President of the country, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia tweeted “Sir John was a good man who truly paid his dues to the party and Ghana. I will miss him. Rest in peace, my good friend”.
