Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association George Amoako has decided to leave office when his mandate expires.
The experienced football administrator was voted into office back in 2019.
His four-year mandate as executive council member will come to an end in October this year.
Speaking to WestGold FM, the former CEO of Kotoko confirmed he will not contest for the executive council role in the upcoming elections.
The decision to take a backseat at the Ghana FA is as a result of continues insult from football fanatics.
“I am not contesting again but I will be his backbone. I am old and the insults are too much and I want to run away from it. Everybody is a coach and an administrator in this country,” he said.
The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that the 2023 elections will be held after the extraordinary congress later this year.
