The Koforidua District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Ascension Congregation, Rev.Justice Kwame Asumeng has bemoaned that Ghana is struggling to develop due to lack of unity between the two main political parties in the country.
He said if the two major political parties(NDC and NPP) are able to manage each other well ,and refrain from taken entrenched positions on national issues but become accommodating to each others opinions and ideas ,Ghana will develope faster than current slow pace.
Rev Justice Kwame Asumeng posited that being able to manage opponents or enemies is a key leadership skills King David in the Bible exhibited and became successful therefore the need for politicians to take constructive criticism in good faith to do things in different ways.
He said this Sunday when delivering sermon at Thanksgiving service held by New Juaben traditional council on the theme, “Oh Magnify the Lord with Me,”.
He advised Ghanaians to honour one another, especially leaders who are in charge of society.
Rev. Kwame Asumeng urged the Omanhene to help create opportunities for the youth in order to unearth their full potential, promote development, and bring honour to the traditional area.
Rev. Kwame Asumeng encouraged subjects of New Juaben not to disappoint the Omanhene in his quest to champion development in the traditional area.
He urged them to rather protect and support the Omanhene to be successful as the leader of the traditional area.He advised the youth to desist from abusing leaders in mainstream and social media.
He assured Omanhene Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, that just as God prepared David to lead his people ,so as he has been prepared to lead New Juaben onto path of development and growth.
Omanhene of New Juaben Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III reiterated calls for sustained unity to create the enabling environment for development.
He advised drivers and motorcyclists to refrain from speeding to reduce carnages .He charged the assembly to have second look at motor riders particularly Pragia riders operating without license.
Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben Ike Appaw Gyasi who spoke on behalf of the Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong urged residents of New Juaben to take advantage of the free senior high School policy to provide their children quality education .
He said Technical and Vocational education has received a major boost by government to provide skill training to the youth to curb high rate of unemployment.
In attendance at the Thanksgiving service were Muslim chiefs, Divisional and Sub-chiefs ,Pastors,Bishops ,Gabby Asare Okyere Darko and Wife as well members of the various churches.
