A member of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s campaign team from Assin Central, Mr. Alex Tetteh, has passionately opposed the idea of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becoming the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer before the 2024 elections.
The current vice president of Ghana, Mr. Tetteh, who is also the founder and head of the pressure group Citizen Eye Ghana (CITEG), has lost contact with the party’s fundamental supporters.
Mr. Tetteh went so far as to threaten to commit suicide by consuming poison if Bawumia is chosen over his boss Kennedy Agyapong in an interview on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia morning show.
Delegates from the NPP have made it their mission to vote against the vice president because, in his opinion, he has failed to represent their interests and is only trying to buy his way through the election.
“The day that you see that delegates have elected Bawumia… I will drink poison and die. You will not hear me speak on the radio again.
Let the time come and we will see. You think you can just give someone money and go sit somewhere after four years then you come back to them? See how dejected NPP delegates have become despite their party being in power. It is as if they are rather in opposition,” he stated.

It’s about time Ghanaians switch to the underdog political parties;having experienced the political damage and some incompetent leadership in serving the country poorly. Change parties and disappoint both NDC/NPP they have proven themselves already 🙄 why do Ghanaians keep voting these dishonest politicians. The have all given the same worst result economically it could be better than what we see happening. Poor quality service is what they offer and indulge in corruption without any guilty conscience. These are extremely sad situations. Ghana is NOT a difficult country to govern to make life better economically for everyone to have a fair share of the cake. May God give us selfless servant leadership to help transform lives.
