The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, has expressed his full commitment to working diligently and justifying the confidence placed in him by the good people of the metropolis.
According to the mayor, he was appointed as a servant of the people entrusted with the mandate to coordinate development programs, promote social equity, and improve the living conditions of every citizen.
Speaking at a town hall meeting organized by the Botnar and Star Ghana Foundation, Hon. Ransford Boakye indicated that the meeting will spark growth and development in the metropolis.
He said that the gathering marks a significant step in reaffirming a collective commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive governance, adding that the town hall meeting serves as an important platform to facilitate open communication and promote good governance and engagement between the people.

Hon. Ransford Boakye articulated that the platform was to enable officials in the assembly to hear the views of the youth on public issues.
Touching on the intervention captured by the Assembly in its 2025 Annual Action Plan, which focused on core thematic areas, Hon. Ransford Boakye highlighted local economic development to provide opportunity for inclusive and economic growth for every citizen.
“Our greatest asset is youth empowerment.” It is our young people, their energy, creativity, and aspirations that must be harnessed in our quest to build their future,” he added.
Hon. Ransford Boakye stated that the 2025 Annual Action Plan also targeted advancement of youth empowerment and inclusive governance to empower young people to become economically active.
The New Juaben South MCE disclosed that access to education, health care, social justice, and basic amenities remains his topmost priority.
He promised to improve education with better infrastructure, learning materials, and bursaries for brilliant but needy students, strengthening child and social protection.
Hon. Ransford Boakye assured persons with disabilities of his support and tackled gender-based violence.
Addressing inequality and empowering communities at the town hall meeting, Hon. Ransford Boakye articulated that the assembly will implement activities to further promote social development by expanding access to healthcare through the provision of CHIPS compounds and mental health and substance abuse awareness campaigns.
Provision of clean water and hygienic infrastructure, including boreholes, toilets, and wash facilities, means improving sanitation developing recreational parks.”
He pledged to champion social development programs that will lay the groundwork for sustainable progress, social cohesion, and long-term national stability.
On human settlement development, Hon. Ransford Boakye promised to provide water resources facilities to create favorable environmental conditions for the good people of New Juaben South.
Hon. Ransford Boakye, however, stated that human settlement developments often lead to environmental changes driving economic growth.
He said that the assembly is working with the relevant departments and agencies to sustainably manage the environment by strengthening public education on sanitation.
Hon. Ransford Boakye is poised to improve road safety and maintenance with road markings and other road interventions.
He highlighted that they have factored in decongestion exercises, promoting environmental conservation, tree planting, and public education on disaster prevention.
Hon. Ransford Boakye affirmed that the NDC government has shown commitment in empowering the youth with manifesto promises. He added that the programs aimed at empowering the youth include the National Apprenticeship, Adumawura, the One Million Coders program, and many others.

Hon. Ransford Boakye averred that the government has created a neighboring environment to support the youths with no fee stress for the first-year university students, elimination of betting tax, and reduction in the price of nursing training forms.
”II am not only the political and administrative head of the metropolis but also a servant of the people entrusted with the mandate to coordinate development programs, promote social equity, and improve living conditions of every citizen,” Hon. Ransford Boakye said.
The MCE disclosed that they are embarking on sensitization on climate change and carrying out activities to reduce the impact of climate change, sampling disaster reduction with the construction of footbridges.
Hon. Ransford Boakye said that focusing on the youth in an inclusive governance is a good step towards achieving sustainable development. He explained that youth inclusion in governance fosters unity, ensures intergenerational equity, and encourages generous participation in ownership.
