Ghanaian musician Martin King Arthur known on stage as Kofi Kinaata has disclosed that, his song ‘Things Fall Apart’ made him realize how a church truant he is and isn’t proud he is a part-time Christian.
The musician in an interview with an Accra based television station revealed that the part-time Christian he said in the song was directly meant to him because of how lazy he is when it comes to attending church service. Also revealing that he is a Christian but feel guilty when he doesn’t act accordingly.
“The whole part-time Christian I said in the song was meant for me. Sometimes I feel ashamed and guilt that comes with it doesn’t let me feel like a Christian. Your kind of lifestyle doesn’t suit a Christian that makes me a part-time Christian. I am not proud though”, he averred.
Touching on if Jehovah Witnesses were angry when mentioned them in his song. Kofi Kinaata disclosed that, they were even happy.
“They were even happy. You know when members from Jehovah Witness come around, some of us always ran away. I’ve been there before, and am not proud of that. Nowadays when they are coming, I listen; it’s the gospel.
Asked how his dad who happens to be a man of God said when he heard the song (Things fall apart) Kofi Kinaata unvield that, his father didn’t complain.
“For this one, I think he is proud of me. I remember when I started rapping, he wasn’t paying attention until I released the ‘Susuka’ song which has made him my number fan.” He said.
