Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, a former trade minister under the National Democratic Congress administration, claims he is prepared and eager to run as John Dramani Mahama’s running mate in the 2024 elections.
According to Dr. Spio Garbrah, he possesses the expertise and capability to enhance the NDC’s chances of winning.
Speaking on TV3, based in Accra, Dr. Spio Garbrah declared that he is always prepared to assist Mr. Mahama.
“I am also capable; I am also ready. So it is a matter of his choice. If he chooses me, we all hear about it. I have made myself known and available to lead our party and to lead Ghana, and I’m still here in Ghana,” he said.
In February 2024, Mr. Mahama—who is standing for reelection in 2023—will announce his choice for running mate.
2020 saw the appointment of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the former president’s running mate.
