Patrick Yaw Boamah, a member of parliament for Okaikwei Central, has urged the government’s representatives to properly negotiate with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to benefit Ghanaians.
He implied that no government would seek to make people’s lives miserable or uncomfortable through its policies and decisions.
On Friday, July 1, he told TV3’s Parliamentary Correspondent Komla Kluste that Ghanaians should emphasize “the circumstances that will take you there.” Second, Ghanaians should focus on the program’s outcomes and the conditions they will bring about.
“So let us look at the engagements and the discussions that will ensue and the conditions that will come out from the progarmme. So we wish government well that they will negotiate better and ensure that we stay on track to the benefit of everybody.
“No government will say that I want to impoverish the lots or make people’s lives uncomfortable, no government worth it salt will do that but certain circumstances beyond the control will lead to some hardships which we all admit to.”
