President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has launched a $10 million financial aid to help stimulate Small and Medium scaled Enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The Ghana Tourism Development Project (GTDP) with funding from the International Development Association of the World Bank, is aimed at stimulating growth in the tourism through the upgrading tourism sites and development of the capacities of sector players to boost revenues generation.
The move by the President is also to help the tourism sector to assist government in exploring more employment opportunities for its citizens.
President Akufo-Addo therefore urged all stakeholders in the sector to work hard and raise the standard and image of Ghana’s tourism sector.
Present at the launch were stakeholders from across the tourism sector and some tourism ambassadors.
