The incoming President of Results for Development (R4D), Gina Logomarsino together with the out-going Ghana Country Director and now Senior Program Director, Dr. Linda Vanotoo and other officials have paid a courtesy call to the NHIA Chief Executive, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye.
Primarily being a familiarisation visit, the meeting took the opportunity discuss some programs that both entities are working on in the areas of research into out-of-pocket payments, integration of preventive and health promotion onto the NHIS Benefit Package and streamlining credentialing systems between the NHIA and HEFRA.
For more than a decade, R4D has been active in Ghana, serving as a trusted partner to multiple government agencies supporting improvement efforts in education, nutrition outcomes and health system strengthening.
Dr. Okoe Boye welcomed the visiting team and pledged the NHIA’s support for all the interventions being worked on and assured them of how useful the research findings will help inform management on how to proceed with some of the challenges bedevilling the NHIS. The NHIA team had Oswald Essuah-Mensah, Ag. Director, Corporate Affairs and Dr. Mrs. Ruby Mensah Annan, Ag. Director, Strategic Health Purchasing in attendance.
