Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) has been urged to end the increasing rate of rejected ballots in our voting system as far as our democratic dispensation is concerned.
Ghana since 1993 has recorded a total of one million, four hundred and eighty-nine thousand and eighty-five rejected votes 1993, according to “CARE” Ghana, a civil society organization.
In a press statement signed by its Executive Director, David Kumi Addo, the EC must act by engaging all stakeholders to deal with the issue as it is a financial loss to the state.
A total of 313,395 cases of rejected ballots were recorded in the 2020 elections despite numerous reforms and education.
