In his quest to strengthen India-Ghana relations and also explore development potentials that could attract the Indian Business Community to come and invest in Ghana, His Excellency Sugandh Rajaram, Indian High Commissioner to Ghana is in the Bono East region on a 4–day working visit.
At a durbar of Chiefs of Techiman Traditional Council, Municipal/District Chief Executives and some Investors in Techiman to welcome the Indian High Commissioner, Oseadeyor Akumfi Ameyaw IV, Omanhene of Techiman and Bono East Regional Representative of the Council of State commended H. E. Sugandh Rajaram for the visit recounting the long-standing relationship between Ghana and India way back from the days of colonialism.
Earlier in his welcome address, Kwasi Adu-Gyan, Bono East Regional Minister noted that the High Commissioner’s tour presents an opportunity to market the various investment opportunities in the Bono East region especially in areas of agriculture, industry, tourism, education etc. to India and the world at large.
For his part, Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah, a Deputy Minister for Local Gov’t, Decentralization and Rural Development and the Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency pledged the government of Ghana’s readiness to partner with India for any business which will mutually benefit the two countries.
H. E. Sugandh Rajaram, the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana revealed that a lot of proposals have already been brought before him and needed first-hand information (visibility studies) about the investment potentials of the Bono East region to identify where his country can fit.
