The Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar has emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to fight mis/disinformation.
She highlighted the establishment of a fact-checking portal to verify the accuracy and autenticity of information before sharing as well as the validation of the National Action Plan on Combating mis/disinformation as some interventions being put in place by the Ministry to fight information disorder.
Hon.Abubakar made the remarks at the Ghana Report Summit in at Kempinski hotel in Accra today as part of a panel discussion.
She appealed to stakeholders to support the Ministry in its effort to fight the canker.
The Minister entreated the media to be circumspect in its reportage and always cross check information before sharing.
