Ghana Education Service has been urged to introduce Corruption studies as a subject to educate students on corruption and its negative consequences on the nation’s development.
Very Rev. Emmanuel Twumasi- Ankrah, Executive Director of Synagogue Council of Churches and Pastors Association who made this request during the association’s National thanksgiving proposed that integrity, attitude and corruption studies should be introduced to the GES curriculum so that, the future leaders would be well and endowed with consequences of corruption to help minimise it in the country.
He explained if GES walk with the suggestion, it will expose the students to acquire knowledge to easily identify corruptible practices and circumstances which lead to the act.
Rev Emmanuel stated “the main objective of education is to solve problems with the knowledge acquired, so if the country has knowledgeable leaders but struggles to solve the country’s challenges, why do we go to school? he quizzed.
He further indicated there are traditional courses which are not helping students to tackle the country’s problems after school, hence the government should replace them with courses that will help solve Ghana’s challenges.
