The Agriculture minister, Dr, Owusu Afriyie Akoto has emphasised that it is never true he has mounted more billboards across the country than the volume of food produced under his tenure as a minister.
According to him, such allegations are unfounded and lacks the basis of credibility from critics.
Speaking on TV3 New Day Show on Thursday, the New Patriotic Party Presidential Candidate hopeful revealed that he is not behind erection of the billboards with his image as speculated.
The minister who is also vying to lead the NPP in the 2024 general elections has come under several criticisms for mounting many campaign billboards ahead of the party’s primaries instead of focusing on the Agric sector.
However, Dr. Afriyie Akoto told Johnie Hughes that a lot have been done and achieved within the 6 years of his appointment to the ministry which have yielded results for Ghanaians to testify to.
He indicated that, the planting for food and jobs policy for instance, has been very successful as the country has enjoyed bumper harvests since its implementation.
He added the Akufo-Addo led government is committed to agricultural development and that has encouraged many people to engage in various forms of activities as far as agriculture is concerned.
