Dr. Arko Akoto- Ampaw the medical superintendent at the Atibie Government Hospital who doubles as the President of Ghana Medical Association in Eastern Region has revealed that the easiest way to contract Covid-19 Coronavirus is through breathing directly from affected person’s Sneezing and Coughing.
He said the Virus is directly transferred from the affected person to others when the person coughs to the air uncontrollably and those closer can contract it through breathing.
In an interview with Kofi Atakora, mybrytfmonline.com reporter, Dr. Arko Akoto- Ampaw encouraged Ghanaians to cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing and practice prescribed social distancing.
According to him, another way to contract the virus, which is transferred through a fluid is when affected person Sneeze or cough uncontrollably on a touchable place and others touch it within 8 to 48hours, depending on the Temperature over there and use the hand in the mouth, Nose, and Eyes.
The Medical Doctor, therefore, urged Ghanaians to stop using their hands directly to the mouth, Nose, and Eyes after hold items outside and shaking others’ hands or enhanced hygiene protocols in all aspects of daily lives.
Dr. Akoto-Ampaw said the cases of localized infections require that citizens maintain strict self-discipline and must wash hands regularly, use alcohol-based sanitizers, stop shaking hands, and avoid unnecessary close body contact.
He pleaded with Ghanaians to comply with government and Ghana Health Service’s precautions and noted that survival is in each Citizen’s own hands.
