Flagbearer of the biggest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has claimed that the NDC sacred mission is to turn Ghana into an advanced nation.
In a statement issued ahead of the manifesto launch on September 7, 2020, the NDC presidential candidate indicated that the current challenges in the country will require new policy formulation and standards.
According to Mahama, he decided to run again for the Presidency to fix some challenges his government could not address during his tenure in office from 2012 to 2016.
“Honesty, I didn’t take the decision to run for a second term as President hence I did it out of a sense of urgency after I began to plan more and more systematically about our vulnerabilities as a nation,” he averred.
“It is our sacred mission to turn Ghana into an advanced nation as soon as possible! It is our moral obligation to be bold and to aim for greatness,” he added.
“Good enough is no longer good enough! To prosper and thrive, we need a fundamental change! We need to set our standards and expectations far higher than “good enough”! If we settle for “good enough”, we settle for the slow death of our very soul and our pride,” the statement said.
