Assailants killed two Ivorian soldiers early Monday during an attack at a northern military camp near the border with Burkina Faso, according to a security source.
The attack in Kafolo area occurred at around 01:00 (local time and GMT). Two attackers were also killed.
The camp was attacked last year and 13 soldiers killed.
It is unclear who carried the latest attack, but the the Ivorian army said the attackers came from Burkina Faso.
Troops combing through the area found weapons and other military equipment, military sources said.
Armed groups linked to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State operate along Ivory Coast’s borders with Mali and Burkina Faso.
Their incursions are raising concerns on the stability of the region.
