The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations best eleven of the tournament, with Ivory Coast and Nigeria dominating the list.
The 34th edition of the continental showpiece ended last Sunday, with Ivory Coast cruising over Nigeria to lift their third AFCON title.
The Elephant triumphed over the Super Eagles at the Stade Olympic Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan. They came from behind to beat Nigeria 2-1 to clinch the title on home soil on Sunday night.
William Troost-Ekong headed home the opening goal in the first half of the much-anticipated encounter. The Super Eagles went to recess with the advantage.
Putting up a stellar performance, Ivory Coast came from a goal down to snatch a 2-1 win over their opponent to win the trophy.
Frank Kessie netted the equalizer before Sabastian Haller sealed the victory in the 81st minute mark.
Ivory Coast and Nigeria dominate the AFCON 2023 Best XI with three players each, while South Africa and DR Congo contributes two players each.
William Troost-Ekong, who emerged as the best player of the tournament earned a place in the team of the tournament. His compatriots, Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman also made the cut.
Jean Michael Seri, Ghislain Konan and Frank Kessie, who played an integral role to help Ivory Coast lift the trophy have been included in the team of the tournament.
South Africa are represented by goalkeeper of the tournament Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena.
DR Congo duo of Chancel Mbemba and Yoane Wissa made the best eleven of the tournament.
Equatorial Guinea striker Emilio Nsue, who won the goal king at the tournament has also been included in the team of the tournament.
