Hopeson Adorye, a former member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) publicity staff, has disclosed that, after being fired, General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua gave him a cash gift.
Mr. Adorye claimed the money was a birthday present.
“On Tuesday, General Secretary sent me money for my birthday,” he said amidst laughter on Accra-based Okay FM.
On Monday, November 20, 2023, the former Kotoka International Airport (KIA) Security Coordinator got a year older.
Coincidentally, Mr. Kodua declared in a letter that same day that Mr. Adorye’s membership in the NPP as well as those of three others would be terminated.
The other three are Boniface Abubakar Saddique, former MP for Adentan and Madina, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, and former general secretary Nana Ohene Ntow.
According to Mr. Kodua, the four lost their membership after they openly supported independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen rather than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the leader of the NPP.
However, Mr. Adorye asserts that the termination was appropriate and timed to coincide with his birthday party.
