Tamale South MP, Haruna Iddrisu has promised that when President-elect John Mahama takes office, he will finish all feasible projects started by the previous administration.
Haruna Iddrisu stressed during her appearance on TV3’s Ghana Decides that initiatives initiated during the current administration will not be shelved but rather will be finished following a comprehensive evaluation to guarantee value for the money.
“Every good project started by this government will be completed under President Mahama.
Whether it was a school block or a hospital, he promised, “I will carry out and finish these projects in accordance with the directive principles of state policy, subject to a value-for-money analysis and a clear understanding of what went into them.”
Haruna Iddrisu confirmed, however, that public funds will not be used during Mahama’s administration to complete the National Cathedral, which was started by the previous administration.
“If the decision is made to continue the National Cathedral, it won’t be done with state resources. President Mahama is smarter than that.
“If this country truly needs a National Cathedral, President-elect John Dramani Mahama will sit with the church to discuss the way forward, but it will not involve state funds or the wastage we are currently witnessing,” he stated.
