The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Director of Elections and Information Technology, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, emphasized the 24-hour economy as a top priority for the next administration.
The new administration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed its commitment to the 24-Hour Economy Policy, a major component of its agenda to rebuild Ghana’s economy.
In order to fulfill his administration’s commitments, President-elect Mahama has announced a strategic team that includes important hires such renowned economist and statesman Augustus Goosie Tanoh as the chief architect of the 24-Hour Economy strategy and Julius Debrah as Chief of Staff.
Dr. Boamah described the administration’s goal to turn Ghana’s economy into a thriving, 24/7 system that boosts employment, productivity, and service delivery in a number of areas in an interview with Channel One TV.
“Goosie Tanoh is a leader with a razor-sharp mind and impeccable credibility,” Dr. Boamah said, expressing confidence in Tanoh’s ability to oversee the implementation of the ambitious policy. “His expertise will ensure the success of this transformative initiative.”
“Anybody who knows him [Goosie Tanoh] will know that he has a razor-sharp mind. He has impeccable credibility, and he is the person who is going to be in charge I believe that John Mahama and Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman in the presidency signals a restoration of dignity and integrity to the presidency and that is where the 24-hour economy will be activated from,” he stated.
