His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic, commissioned five envoys comprising four Ambassadors and one High Commissioner on Tuesday, 19th November, 2024 at the Jubilee House.
The envoys are H. E. Mrs. Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, the Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Austria, H. E. Mrs. Vivian Kafui Akua Asempapa, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Senegal, H. E. Mrs. Regina Appiah-Sam, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Spain, H. E. Mr. McArios Akanbeanab Akanbong, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Islamic Republic of Iran and H. E. Dr. Senalor Kwabla Yawlui, High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Delivering his address, President Akufo-Addo extended his heartfelt congratulations to the career envoys who have distinguished themselves in their various undertakings as Civil Servants and Diplomats of Ghana, He stated that their nomination reflects their personal career achievements and also a demonstration of their unwavering patriotic spirit. He noted that their elevation speaks of the confidence reposed in the execution of their duties in these challenging times. He further charged them to uphold the integrity, loyalty and the good name of Ghana in the countries of their accreditation.
He expressed the need for Ghana to deepen its ties of cooperation and strengthen the bonds of friendship with all friendly nations. He charged them to cooperate with their respective host governments in bilateral and multilateral fora to foster and pursue the attainment of the Ghana beyond aid agenda. He further charged them to be mindful in their tenure in the realisation of the common goal to combat the surge of armed conflicts, terrorism, violent extremism, threats of climate change and the illicit outflows of funds.
