Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has said Justice and equal treatment is non-existent in President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo has been sacking people found guilty of corruption but he protects those who are his relatives.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Teiman in the Adentan constituency as part of his campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. John Mahama said When the NDC wins power, if someone flouts the law he will be dealt with by the law.
He said “Many people have stolen money in the Akufo-Addo government, he [President Akufo-Addo] must be firm and deal with all of them irrespective of his relations with them. He must not wait until the NDC win power and come and deal with them,” he stressed.
“Why hasn’t President Akufo-Addo fired the Finance Minister yet over the Agyapa deal?” he quizzed. “It is because he is a relative to the President. But when you look at what happened to the PPA boss, immediately CHRAJ gave the President a report, he fired him.
In a related development, Former President John Mahama has expressed disappointment in the Special Prosecutor for naming him as Government Official 1 in the Airbus Scandal.
His comment follows a claim by Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu that Mr. Mahama is the mysterious ‘Government Official 1’ in the Airbus Scandal.
“I’m surprised. It is obvious why this paragraph is coming out. This damning report was coming out, and I’m disappointed in Martin Amidu for putting that paragraph there just to equalize and bring up airbus as if it was a major issue,” he noted.
